Saturday, September 6, 1930
Cloudy all morning but clearing in afternoon. I dressed this morning for Ed Cole's wedding then went into the office and took care of the mail then met Tessie at the New Haven Station at 10-10 Daylight Saving Time. Took the "Mayflower" train over the Shore Line for Providence. We had our luncheon on the train and Sally met us at Providence with Ed's father's car and chauffeur. They took us out to Ed's grandfather's estate where the wedding was performed under a big oak tree. The reception was also held out doors. It was a beautiful place for the affair. In going down some stone steps, I turned my ankle and strained a ligament. My, how it pained all the way home. Tessie and Vio Powell, Sally, peter, and I came home in the car. We stopped in Danielson for something to eat. I bathed my foot in scalding water when I reached home
