Tuesday, September 30, 1930 Much cooler today but clear and fine. Busy at the store all day. Had lunch at Hotel Taft with New Haven Rotary Club. Congressman John Q. Tilson was the speaker of the day. He spoke on Intimate Acquaintance with two presidents, Mr. Coolidge and Hoover. Tonight, Tessie and I went out to the Writhrop Apartments and had dinner with Ed and Alice Cole. They have just started housekeeping. We had a nice dinner and a happy visit.
