Saturday, April 4, 1931 Nice day all day long. Met Coombs florist man at Calvary Church at 9 A.M. and we arranged the flowers as a loving memorial for Lota and Doris. They looked lovely. Had lunch and worked till about 2-30 then watched the parade of the city companies of the Conn. National Guard. The parade was to open the progress exposition being held in the new Armory on Goffe Street. I came home and worked out of doors till dark spading up around the trees and shrubs. Had dinner at home and spent the evening reading and listening to our radio. Services held in South Pond, Indiana for Knute Rockne, who was killed in an airplane crash this week on his way from Kansas City to California. He was a great man as well as a great coach.
