Sunday, April 19, 1931 A beautiful day. After breakfast, Tessie took me into Calvary to church school and church service. The Rev. Andrew T. Carahan preached for us. We had a meeting of the Finance Committee after church and gave out cards to canvassers to call on our members who have not yet handed in there pledges. Tessie called for me and we went up to "The Homestead" to dinner (on Elm Street). After, we drove out to Dondi's and bought some laurel bushes for our garden. Then I called on six of our church members and obtained their pledges. Came home and watered the newly seeded lawn.
