Got up early and Tessie took me right in to the Commercial High School, arriving there at eight o'clock. I spoke at their Tuesday morning assembly to the juniors and senior class. Walter Spencer is principle and John Houston assistant principle. Worked at office till noon then went to the Hotel Taft to the weekly luncheon of the New Haven Rotary Club. District Governor Dick Dodge was there. Howard Beach gave us an illustrated talk on the "Private Life of an Oyster". It was intensely interesting and instructive. Came home early and dressed for our own New Haven Club Ladies Night at the New Haven Lawn Club. We had a very happy time there. Dining and dancing and playing bridge. Attended Mrs. Jordon's funeral at Beecher, Bennett, & Lincoln. Rev. Mr. Cleverdon officiated.
