Friday, April 24, 1931 Cold and cloudy. Meeting with the budget sub-committee of the Community Chest and Executive Committee of the Boys Scout Council at 5 o'clock at Scout Headquarters. T.P.H. called for me there and brought me out to Spring Glen and to the Father and Son Banquet of the Church of Christ in Spring Glen. The dinner was held in the old Spring Glen Club House. I was toast master and Fred Dawless the principle speaker. About one hundred men and boys sat down to supper. Rev. Victor Brown is pastor of the church.
