Much cooler today and a bright clear air. Attended New Haven Rotary Club meeting at Hotel Taft. We met in the ball room on the twelfth floor and it was fine up there. Attorney Crawford, New Haven quite famous colored lawyer, spoke on the city charter. Tessie and Sally drove over to Guilford and had lunch with Esther Ballard MacKenzie at the Ballard home. Then went on to East River and spent the afternoon with Mrs. Knapp and the Stone family. I met with the membership committee of Rotary at Don Adams' office at 5-15. Tony Verdi brought me out home in his new Packard car. We all had dinner here then spent the time reading and sewing. Peter drove down from Stockbridge in "Toby" after the show. Arrived here about 2-30 A.M.
