Wednesday, August 5, 1931 Very hot again. Thermometer stood at 91° at six thirty tonight. Mr. Chamberlain working on top floor of York Street building. Had to quit about four o'clock on account of the heat. Came down to my office and worked till 6-30 doing Mrs. Woods job. She is on vacation. I had supper tonight at "Childs" on Church Street. Lotta Pardee Pease was in the store today. She and her family were on their way to Bridgeport. Peter came down from Stockbridge in the night. Had lunch here then drove back in "Toby" to reach Stockbridge in time for the show.
