This seems to have been the hottest day of a very hot summer. The thermometer registered 97° and the humidity was worse than yesterday. Franklin Clark brought us in an electric fan and I brought it home and tonight we have running in Sarah's room upstairs to try and cool it off a bit. She is minding the heat a good bit these last few days. Betty Beebe Cob came out to see her today. Betty will expect her baby by Christmas. Harley and Franklin drove up to Springfield then on to the lake for the weekend. Franklin will come down Monday morning. Harley not till Wednesday morning.
