Monday, August 10, 1931 Muggy this morning but good air later. Now rain tonight and we need rain. Tessie took me in to the office this morning. Later, she and Sarah drove up to Hartford to see "Nan" and do some shopping for "Baby to come". I did something today that I don't think I have done before and that was to attend two funerals in one afternoon. i went up to Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln's at two o'cock to the funeral of Henry Gruener, a veteran Gray. Then again at four o'clock to the service for Worthington Platt, who died suddenly from infantile paralysis. I came home to supper on the trolly car. Had supper here.
