A lovely day. Hot in the sun but clear and fine. We all slept late. Mother got breakfast then I drove in to Calvary Church. Mr. E.M. Poteat Jr. preached for us for the third time and he was just wonderful. he preached for forty minutes and I could have heard him for another forty. We had dinner at home, Mother, Sarah, and I. Afterwards, I cut some flowers and Tessie and I drove up to the cemetery and put them on Father and Mother Peck's graves and on Doris' grave too. We came home and sat out under the old hickory tree till Sally thought she had best take a walk up on Ridge Road. She stopped at the Dawlesses and Edna and Miss Smith walked back down home with her. They came in for a little while. We had some supper in the sun room and then listened to Seth and Mother Parker over the radio.
