Monday, August 17, 1931 Lovely day again today. Warm and clear. Harley and Franklin drove down from the lake in New Hampshire this morning. Stopped at the Springfield store on the way. Mother and Sarah had tea with Mrs. McCandless, wife of Professor MacCandless of the Yale Drama School. They then called for me at the store and we came home and had dinner here.
