A lovely day, very cool. Peter arrived at house about 1-30 this morning, having driven down from Stockbridge to be with Sarah if her baby should be born. But nothing has happened as yet. It was so cool that I lighted a fire in the dining room at breakfast time. I drove in town to Calvary Church. Mr. E.M. Neil Poteat Jr. preached for us for the fourth time this morning. He surely is great. We all had dinner at home including Peter. Then we drove down to West Haven to see the four U.S.N. War Ships that are in the harbor. On the way back, we stopped and called on the Tiffany's and saw the new baby boy. We all had supper together around the living room fire.
