Warm and mild. Mother and I got up early and had breakfast. I took the Packard in town and I took all the plants in to Georgies Morris' house to take care of them while we are away. We had a store meeting this morning. I hurried and cleared up all odds and ends of business and wished them all goodbye and "A Merry Christmas" and Mr. Chamberlain drove me out home. Mother was busy packing up. I packed my bags. We locked up the house. George Hyde came out with the Packard and drove us to Springfield, Mass. We took the "New England Wolverine" over the N.Y. Central for Chicago on our way to St. Paul to spend Christmas with Peter and Sally. We had dinner on the train. Read till quite late then went to bed. At least after much discussion, we are really on our way to our dear ones.
