Friday, December 25, 1931 Christmas Day at St. Paul with our dear ones Sarah and Peter the Great and "Peter Petite". Peter's father and mother and brother Richard here too. We all had breakfast then we gathered around the big Christmas tree. Little Peter in his basket and dear Sally substituting for Santa Claus handing around the packages. We had a lot of fun and although most of the packages were for Little Peter, still each one of us received remembrances. Tessie gave me a tie, Harley another tie, and Sally a wonderful book, "Kings in the Making". The Davises of Plainfield, N.J. sent us all a five pound box of candy. We all had Christmas dinner here at Sarah's, Peter carving the big turkey like a veteran family man. We are so glad we came now to be here on Peter's first Christmas and to have both his Grandmothers and both Grandfathers here also. It may not be possible always. We spent the afternoon and evening visiting and talking and enjoying the brilliant tree. Our baby Peter is the grandest of all Christmas gifts. We thank God for him.
