Monday, February 16, 1931 Very warm and Spring-like today. Aunt Mame's and Uncle Ted's 50th wedding anniversary. Harley and Alice went to Gardner, Mass. to attend it. We all send gold coins as a gift. Lunch at the Hotel Taft with Mr. McClellan of the W.H.S. Lloyd Co. of New York. Tessie and Eleanor Peck called for me at six o'clock and we went down to Longley's on Elm Street for supper then went over to the College Theatre (the old Hyperion) to the movies. We had a letter from Sarah today at Chicago telling us that she hopes to come home next week about Tuesday. We shall be glad to have her. Mayor Thomas Tully of New Haven today asked Controller Frank G. Barnes for his resignation as the city finances are in a sad muddle. Mrs. Wood sick with the grippe.
