Tuesday, February 24, 1931 A beautiful day. Clear and not too cold. Went to the office. Had lunch in town then Tessie called for me and we drove up to Easthampton, Mass. where I spoke to the joint meeting of the Easthampton and Northampton Clubs. we found piles of snow North of Hartford and it grew heavier as we went North and around Easthampton the drifts were very high. The roads had all been kept open by the Highway Departments, as the driving was just fine. We went directly to the Cliff Richmond's. Had tea there before the Rotary Meeting. Paul and Portia Keiser came up from Springfield. I spoke at the Rotary meetings and the men were nice enough and polite enough to say it was a good talk. We returned to the Richmond's and spent the night with them, sleeping in their beautiful guest room.
