Sunday, January 4, 1931 A beautiful day. Not so cold and thawing the ice and snow. Got up and caught the nine o'clock trolly into New Haven to attend church school at Calvary. Taught the men's class. Then attended morning service and communion. Mr. Cleverdon preached. He had a good sermon. Violette and Clayton were there. I sat with them and they brought me all the way home in their car. Tessie and I had dinner alone at home. She attended service at Centerville P.E. Church. I took a walk up on top of the hill. A good crowd were skeeing on the snow. Others were skating on the pond. I wrote letters to Sarah at Chicago and Sister Lillian at Washington. We had our supper in front of the living room fire and listened to the radio, ending up with "Seth Park" program.
