Wednesday, January 21, 1931 A beautiful day, clear and snappy. Much colder tonight. Busy all day long on our sample books. Jim and Ruth Gunn drove down from Turners Falls, Mass. and will stay with us tonight. They have come down for the West Haven Charter Night of the Rotary Club. Marion Adams, Sadie Bogg, Lena Calvin, Ruth Gunn, Stella Dodge, and Tessie all had dinner at the Taft then went to the Shubert Theatre to Rio while we, their husbands, attended the Charter Night exercises at the Masonic Temple, West Haven. I found my car frozen up when we came out and had to go to a garage to have it thawed out. We met at the Hotel Taft and brought the Gunns home with us.
