Friday, January 23, 1931 Very cold this morning. Down to eleven above zero. Worked all day at the store. Our Wall Paper Book records. Eleanor Peck, Tessie's neice and daughter of her brother Charles, came today for a little visit. Her mother has just died from "T.B." and Eleanor had nursed her for over a year. She is tired out and a little rest and visit will do her good. We had dinner at home and had intended staying at home tonight. But Mrs. Wood (at the office) called up and offered two tickets for Woolsey Hall Concert to hear Rachmoninoff. T.P.H. and Eleanor used them and I went to the movies at the new Fox-Poli College Theatre, formerly the old Hyperion.
