Thursday, January 29, 1931 Snowed early this morning then turned to rain in New Haven. Drove into town and after taking care of my mail, came out, picked up Tessie and Eleanor (Peck), and started for Springfield. Had not gone far North when the rain turned to snow and we had a raging snow storm all the way to Springfield. Had to stop several times and clear the snow and ice from the windshield. Arrived there safely and had lunch at Hotel Kimball. Tessie and Eleanor went to Mrs. Newells and I worked at the Springfield store. Later, Tessie called for me and took me up to Mrs. Newells and to see Muriel, who has just come home from Copenhagen, Denmark to have her baby. She looks so dear and appears so well.
