Monday, July 13, 1931 A beautiful Summer day, cool and clear. Alarm went off six o'clock. Got up, had breakfast, packed my suitcase, and Tessie took me into the New Haven Station for the eight o'clock from New York to attend the Wall Paper Convention. Registered at the Hotel Commodore. Sat in session in the West Ball Room at the Semi Annual Meeting of the National Wall Paper Wholesalers Association. Adjourned at six P.M. Came up to my room, took a bath, and changed my clothes and enjoyed the annual dinner, which the wholesalers extend to the manufacturers. Mr. Thubant and Mr. Davis spoke also a man from the Dry Goods Ass'n. After the dinner, I walked through 42nd St. to Broadway and back to the hotel and to bed. My room is on the 16th floor on the Lexington Ave. side, right across from the new Chrysler Bldg.
