Sunday, July 19, 1931 A beautiful day after the rain of yesterday, clear and cool. Tessie and I got up and had breakfast. We did the dishes together and drove in town to church, she to St. Paul's and I to Calvary. Mr. Blanton had another fine sermon on "Youth and Morals". We again had a good congregation. Tessie called for me and we came out home and had dinner here. Spent the afternoon reading and writing. We had our supper in the sun room and then took a walk around the square and admired our own lawn and garden immensely. I wrote a letter to Bert and Jess Hodges and mailed it to them at Shanghai, China and then to bed after listening to Seth Parker and their Sunday night "Githering".
