Saturday, July 25, 1931 A beautiful day today. Clear and warm and sunshiny. We worked till one o'clock and then closed the store. I came home. Tessie had lunch ready then we dressed and drove out to the Westville Congo Church to the wedding of Miss Alta Augur, one of our office girls. We came home and I changed my clothes and worked all the afternoon. Repaired the kitchen screen door, mended Tessie's kitchen chair, and wired up one of the evergreen trees in front of the house. Tonight, Tessie and I took a walk up to the top of Ridge Road. The moon is so lovely. The building wreckers have torn down all the old buildings of the Yale Divinity School, corner of Elm and College Streets. The huge lot is now bare of buildings, ready to start the foundations for one of the new "House Plan" dormitories.
