Sunday, July 26, 1931 A lovely Summer day. Got up at 8-30. Had breakfast and fussed around our dahlia plants. Picked two blossoms. The first of the season. Drove into town. Left T.P.H. at St. Paul's Church then I went on to West Haven and picked up Charles McClelland and drove over to Miantic to the camp of the 102nd Inf. C.N.G. to visit the Grays and to see the Governors Day Ceremonies. Governor Cross reviewed the regiment. His staff was with him, including Jim Tunny, who caused as much interest as the governor himself. Mac and I had mess with the company tonight. Then drove home. I took Mac to West Haven then came home and found Jack and Daisy Edgerty here. So glad to have them call.
