Hot again this morning. I took the car in town. Loaded it up with paint. Called here at the house. Packed my bag. Took Tessie and her bag and drove to Springfield store. We had lunch at Hotel Kimball and registered there for the night. I stayed at Springfield store all afternoon. All past District Governors and their wives met at the Kimball and tendered a dinner to Ruth and Jim Gunn as a sort of delayed twentieth wedding anniversary, which should have been held June 27th, 1931, but for various reasons had to be postponed. We gave them also sixty dollars in gold. As it was Mrs. Dick Dodge's birthday, we gave her a bouquet of flowers. After the dinner, we held a meeting of the Fall Conclave Committee laying out a program.
