Lovely day, cool and clear. Tessie took me in to town this morning. had lunch at P. Ring's. Drove out to the Beele house, 134 West Rock Ave, to see how the decorators were getting on in preparing the house for our new pastor, Rev. Sankey Lee Blanton. Attended graduating exercise of the Gateway School at the First Baptist Church at eleven o'clock. Tessie and Sarah also attended. Meeting of the committee on meetings of the Chamber of Commerce at 5 o'clock. Ray Westerfield, chairman. peter called for me there and we had dinner at home. Later I worked till dark putting peat moss around the shrubbery borders.
