Friday, June 5, 1931 Very hot today with a thunder shower tonight. Drove the Packard in to the store this morning. Took care of my mail. Went down to the church office and called on Mr. Blanton and welcomed him to New Haven and Calvary. Came out home. Got Mother, Sarah, and Peter and drove up to Springfield. Had luncheon at Hotel Kimball all four of us. Then Peter, Sarah, and Mother went out to the Newell's to see Muriel, Phil, and the baby. Phil was leaving for Cambridge to see his people. I called for the folks and we drove down home. Stopped in Cheshire and had supper at the "Yellow Candle".
