Sunday, June 7, 1931 Rain and mist all day long. Tessie and I got up early and had breakfast. Then I took the Packard and drove into Calvary Church School. We had an assembly of the whole school down stairs to greet Mr. and Mrs. Blanton on their first Sunday as our new minister. I had twenty seven men in my class. We held a class session afterwards and decided to continue the class next Fall. Mr. Blanton preached his first sermon this morning and it was so fine. He also baptized two of our young people. We all had dinner at home, Tessie, Sally, Peter, and I and spent the whole afternoon reading and writing around the Living Room fire. We had supper there also.
