Thursday, June 11, 1931 Still showery. Sarah and Peter's first anniversary today. Just a year ago they were married. It has been an eventful year for them. Much has happened yet they love each other with a deeper more abiding love than that of a year ago. Mother had a dinner party for them tonight. Ed and Alice Cole, Bill and Betty Beele Raft and Helen Noble and Grant Jr. (one year old). We had a lovely dinner. Tessie and I hurried and dressed and took Mrs. Knapp with us down to the Christ Church of West Haven to Marion Cross' wedding. She married a West Point man so the wedding was a military one. They were thirty five minutes late coming in. Helen Noble and the baby spent the night with us.
