Sunday, March 22, 1931 Doris would have been 29 years old today. Well this has been some day. We got up early and I took the Packard and drove in town and called at the Hotel Taft for Mr. Blanton, who is to preach for us today. I took him up to the church and turned him over to Mr. Charles Walker, who will show him around. I like his sermon very much. I called a meeting of my committee and we decided to meet with him after the evening service. I hurried home, had dinner with Tessie and Sally, then we drove to Springfield. Called on the Newells. Mrs. Newell to Sally over to the hospital to see Muriel and the baby. We all met at the Rail Road Station, saw Sarah off on the 5-45 train for Chicago, then we dashed back to New Haven. I left Tessie at home and I went on in to Calvary and heard Mr. Blanton preach again. We then had a meeting with him and saw him to the hotel.
