Friday, May 1, 1931 Cold again today. Harley in Pittsfield, Mass. Said it was snowing up there. Tessie came in for me tonight. We had dinner at home. Later, Fred Dawless called for me and we went down to the Children's Community Center for a rehearsal of the Minstrel Show that we are to put on for the Rotary Spring Conference next week, Thursday, at the New Haven Lawn Club. The painters are putting the second coat of paint on the house, painting it colonial yellow and white with green sash and blinds. This is the first time that it has painted anything but white.
