Saturday, May 9, 1931 A lovely day today. At the store till about 4-30. Came home and worked out of doors digging up dandelions. Worksmen began today to take down the steeple of Calvary Baptist Church. It is in bad condition and the Official Board thought best to take it down. personally I feel badly about it sentimentally. I hate to see the change. Then again, it spoils the gothic architecture of the fine old church.
