Monday, May 11, 1931 Cloudy and showery all day. Did some errands down town. Stopped at Calvary Church House. Had lunch at the Waldorf Lunch Car, High and Chapel Streets. Had dinner at home. Then Tessie and I worked all the evening taking the dishes and other things out of the kitchen and pantry, also the bathroom on second floor, for the painters to begin tomorrow morning to paint and paper all three rooms. So cold and dreary that I lit the furnace fire again. That went out last Friday.
