Wednesday, May 13, 1931 Showery again today. Down town at noon. Had lunch at Quinnipiac Club. Attended a meeting of the Rotary Spring Conference Committee at the Graduates Club at 5 P.M. Made reports on all expenses then had dinner together there. Tracy Redding took me in his car up to the new Armory on Goffe Street. Is was the Grannis Medal Drill of the New Haven Grays and a fine program was rendered in addition to the regular drills, etc. Distinguished Service Crosses were presented by the U.S. Government to Francis P. Johnson and Harold A. Brown for bravery in France February 28th 1918. The Grays paraded as a battalion in their honor. Rich Roberts brought me home in his car about 11-30 P.M. Found that Tessie had a flat tire on our car and changed it before going to bed.
