Very warm today. 90 degrees in New Haven. 92 in Springfield. Drove into the store this morning. Took care of my mail then came back home. Picked up T.P.H. and drove to Springfield. Called at the Newells and found sally and Peter there. So glad to see them and to them looking so well. I left Tessie there and went on to the Springfield store. Met Paul Kieser there also Al Colvin of New London. We had lunch at the University Club and talked plans for the Fall Conclave. Went back to the store and soon Harley and Alice arrived on their way home from Troy, New York. I drove up to the Newells and got Tessie, Sally, and Peter and came down home. They were pleased at the appearance of the since it was painted. Also liked their bathroom and the kitchen. It was all a surprise for them.
