Saturday, May 30, 1931 Memorial Day. Stores closed all day of course. Very hot all day a thunder shower tonight. We all stayed home today. Peter and I worked all day long on our dahlia beds. We prepared the ground hoeing out all the weeds. Then we put in the stakes and I planted about half of the hills. Sarah rested out under the big walnut tree. We had dinner and supper at home and have had such a good time we four together. Sarah and Peter have gone in town to see the Grant Nobles. it is Grant Jr.'s first birthday today.
