Another fine day. Quite warm. So mild that I walked from the store to the Hotel Taft without a top coat. Mr. Matlack of the George D. Wetherill Co. of Philadelphia was with us today going over the paint situation for the future. I attended Rotary club luncheon of New Haven Club at Taft. The new minister at the First M.E. Church was the speaker. I also sat in on a membership committee meeting of Don Adams' office tonight at five fifteen. Tessie met me at the corner of Elm and Temple Streets and brought me home. The Town of Hamden is digging up the street out in front of our house, laying our first sewer system. John W. Murphy was elected Mayor of the City of New Haven today, the first democrat to be elected for a number of years.
