Sunday, November 8, 1931 A beautiful day, cold but clear. Had breakfast and drove into down to church school at Calvary. Remained to church service. Mr. Blanton preached a powerful sermon on the "Lessons from War". Cousin Howard Peck, cousin Carrie, Horace, Grace, and their son Howard came down from Middletown and had dinner with us. We were so glad to have them in our home. Great joy!!! Sarah called me up from St. Paul, Minnesota tonight. It was so fine to hear her voice. Mother talked to her and Peter also.
