Tonight, I went down to the Hotel Taft to the opening meeting and dinner of the Community Chest. This is the twelfth campaign. We are to raise $838,074.00. This is $168,000 more than as ever been asked before and $102,000 more than we have ever raised before. Mr. and Mrs. Frederich Brewster gave $30,000. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hooker gave $15,000.00. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Fisher gave $15,000. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Farmham $13,000. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blakeslee gave $10,000. mr. and Mrs. E.M. Bradley gave $10,000. Mr. and Mrs. George Berger gave $8,000. To a total of $101,000.00, which is $49,000 more than these same people gave last year.
