Still lowsy and showery. Took the car in town this morning. Took care of my mail and then left the office. Called for Tessie and drove to New London and spoke to the New London Rotary Club for the Conn. Master Painter Ass'n. T.P.H. had lunch at the Norwich Inn with "Midge" Chandler, Mrs. Calvin, and Mrs. Dodge. Al Colvin and Dick Dodge were at the hotel. We came home and I went down to the Taft to the final meeting of the Community Chest. We went over the top by $141,742.00 over our quota. The quota was $838,074.00 and we collected $979,816.00. Thomas Steele is president of the Chest and MacCarthy campaign manager. Tessie went over to Grant Noble's house. Called me from there and I went over and Grant showed us the movies of Little Peter, Sally, and all of us getting ready for their trip to St. Paul October 9, 1931.
