Sunday, October 4, 1931 Tessie and I got up early and had breakfast then she took me in to the New Haven Station and I took the 9-05 train for Springfield on my way to Chicago to attend the annual meeting of the Wholesale Wall Paper Association. Left Springfield at 12-05. Had luncheon and dinner on the train. It has been a very hot day, clear up till this evening. Most of the men in our Pullman had their coats off.
