Wednesday, October 7, 1931 At the Congress Hotel, Chicago. Took a short walk then had breakfast. Back to my room, No. K50 in hotel, packed my bags, and later took a taxi to the Illinois Central Station and caught the "Wolverine" for home. Had luncheon and dinner on board. Sat out of doors on the observation platform a long time without either hat or coat on. The day was just a beautiful Indian Summer day, clear and balmy reached. Buffalo about eleven P.M. and I went to bed shortly after. World Series games today. St. Louis won 5 to 2. This gives St. Louis 3 games and Philadelphia 2.
