At Norwalk with Alice and Fred Lockwood. We had a sleep-over this morning. Had breakfast together and went out and sat on the stone terrace and looked over the gold course and away to the harbor. The air and sun and view was glorious. We had dinner with them and then Fred took us for a ride up over the Ridgefield hills. It was gorgeous. The leaves had just began to turn and were so brilliant. We went back and had supper with them and then came home. We have had such a quiet restful day.
We had a telegram from Sally saying, "Arrived safely in one pieces and the boy". That means that they are in Chicago safely on the first leg of their journey to St. Paul, Minn.
