Sunday, October 18, 1931 Beautiful day. No frost last night after all. Fearful for tonight though. I did not go to church this morning, just tired out. Rested till nine o'clock. Had breakfast then went out and picked a bushel basket full of dahlias. Tessie and I drove in town and had dinner in the ladies dining room of the new Quinnipiac Club on Church Street between Elm and Wall Streets on the East side of the street. We then went up to the cemetery and put a lot of dahlias on the graves of Father and Mother Peck, on Doris' grave, and some on the grave of Lois' baby boy. We then drove to Middletown and called on Cousin Carrie and Howard Peck. Harry and his family were there and later Norman came in and then Horace and his wife and boy. So we saw the whole family. We had supper and drove home. It is a beautiful moonlight night. Thomas A. Edison died today. We heart it over the radio in a broadcast from London, England.
