Another beautiful day. Harley and I called on Judge Arthur Chambers and asked his advice regarding the situation at the Mechanics Bank. We both then went over to the Mechanics Bank and fixed up the legal papers with Ralph Herman. We walked back up to store, got Franklin's car, and drove out to the New Haven Lawn Club, where we were holding a joint meeting of Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs to hear Whitey tell of his experiences posing as a hobo and a day laborer. Had supper down town tonight then walked up to Armory where the active Grays gave a party for the veterans. Tessie came over and called for me. We had the first letter from Sarah since she reached St. Paul. It was such a happy letter. They seem to be very happy out there and baby Peter is just fine. I spoke at the Taft to the Master Painters Assn. on the change in marking of Sample Books.
