Thursday, October 22, 1931 Another day of beautiful sunshine. Harley drove to Springfield today. I went down town this noon, did some errands, got my lunch at Longley's on Elm St. below Church Street. Tessie came in for me at six o'clock. We got some supper at Kacey's (opposite Taft Hotel) then went in to the Roger Sherman Theatre to the movies. While in Kacey's, we found Mr. Gere and Betty, who live next door. They had been over to the hospital to see Mrs. Gere, who had just been operated for tumors. Had seven of them removed.
