Very cold this morning. Thermometer down to 42°, which is pretty cold. Went over to the hospital to see Sally this morning. She is doing splendid. Doctor had taken out some of her stitches. Attended meeting of the New Haven Rotary Club at Hotel Taft. Frank Beede spoke on Public Schools. He is returning to day Superintendent of New Haven schools after serving for 35 years. Met at Don Adams' office at 5-15 with Wallace Hutton's membership committee. Lehman Lane brought me home. Harley and Alice here to supper tonight. Afterwards, we went in town to the movies at the Roger Sherman. Came home and I worked till 12-30 preparing a notice to go out as a second notice for the Fall Conclave. Ed Cole came over from Southampton, L.I. and will stay with us tonight.
