Tuesday, September 8, 1931 Very cool this morning. Clear and fine. Peter and Roy got up and drove the "Kiddie Car" in town and took the eight o'clock train for New York to look up some plays for St. Paul. Mother took me and brought back some rolls of wallpaper for Mrs. Tower's house, Whitney Ave. and Wakefield Street. I went over to the hospital to see Sarah and found her very much better. She had been sitting up in a chair for fifteen minutes. I went from there to the Hotel Taft to our Rotary meeting. District Governor Paul Keiser made his official visit today and gave us a good talk. Tessie and I had dinner at home then dashed in to spend a few minutes with Sarah before she was fixed up for the night. We then went over to the store and mailed out some Grays letters urging the Border Group to attend the anniversary.
