Saturday, September 12, 1931 Beautiful day today. Much cooler after the heat of the past two days. Store meeting this morning. Men from Springfield came down. We kept the store open today. our first Saturday afternoon open. I came home early and dressed and T.P.H. and I drove in to the First Baptist Church to Esther Beckley's wedding at five o'clock. We then went to the house to the reception and saw the gifts. Came home. I took Miss Burritt, Sarah's Nurse, down to Augur Street to her home. Sarah and Little Peter still quite comfortable. Wire from "Peter the Great". He left Niagara Falls this morning, arrived in Elkhart, Ill. tonight. Expected to be in Chicago by noon tomorrow.
